Here get hardware solution to fix iPhone XS Boot Failure

The iPhone XS can't be turned on after pressing the power button, after testing, we confimed it's caused by hardware problem, now let's get hardware solution to fix the iPhone XS boot failure.

Disassemble the iPhone XS by phone opening tools, connect the iPhone XS to the DC power supply to test the boot current, when press the iPhone power button, the current instantly reaches more than 800mA, and then drops to 0mA immediately.

Remove the iPhone display screen, disconnect the iPhone battery, and then remove the iPhone motherboard.

Use digital multimeter to measure the circuit of the power supply, we found the PP1V1_S2 is short circuited.

Log in to ZXW online account to check iPhone schematic diagram,  we need to measure the capacitors on the PP1V1_S2 circuit. After measurement, we know that those capacitors are normal. Therefore, we suspect the problem is between the iPhone CPU and the iPhone motherboard, the iPhone CPU tin balls may have broken, and then cause the PP1V1_S2 short circuit.

Attach the iPhone XS motherboard upper layer to the SS-601K PCB fixture, apply some solder paste around the iPhone CPU, and then use BGA removal blade and hot air gun to remove the iPhone CPU.

After the iPhone CPU is removed, put iPhone motherboard under the Trinocular microscope, and then use BGA removal blade to remove the glue on the iPhone motherboard.

Next, put MJ 3D BGA reballing stencil on the iPhone CPU; apply some Mechanic solder paste to the BGA reballing stencil, and then use hot air gun to reball it.

After reballing, apply some solder paste on the iPhone motherboard, and then put iPhone CPU on the right position, use DES H95 hot air gun to solder it back the iPhone motherboard.

Now install the iPhone XS, press the power button, the Apple logo appears normally, and then the iPhone XS enters IOS system successfully ,the iPhone XS boot failure has been solved!

iPhone 6 flashlight failure with hardware solution

Here is an iPhone 6 with flashlight failure, after measurement, we confirmed it's the hardware problem, here is a hardware solution to fix the iPhone flashlight problem.

First of all, we need to disassemble the iPhone 6. Use screwdrivers to remove the screws next the iPhone lighting port, put iPhone 6 on the CPB screen separator for heating, turn the iPhone display screen down and connect it to the CPB screen separator. After a while, we can take out the iPhone 6, and then use LCD sucker to open the iPhone screen easily.

Carefully remove the iPhone display screen, disconnect the iPhone battery, and then remove the iPhone motherboard.

Put iPhone motherboard under the microscope to observe, it’s found that there is no iPhone flashlight IC, and the solder pad of the iPhone flashlight IC has lost several pins.

We contacted the owner of the iPhone 6 for more details, and the owner of the iPhone said that this iPhone 6 was repaired by other shop, and they replaced the iPhone flashlight IC, but it didn’t work because the iPhone flashlight IC was burned after a while. So they removed the iPhone flashlight IC and didn’t install it on the motherboard.

There are 8 Pins were lost by counting the missing pins under a microscope. Log in to the ZXW online account and check the iPhone 6 schematic and bitmap, and we can see that for those missed Pins are grounding line, the power supply of the LEDI light, the Pin of the flashlight auto boost Pin.

The iPhone flashlight IC was burned because the iPhone flashlight IC lifted boost Pin lost, the signal is in a suspended state, causing the iPhone flashlight IC to burn after power-on.

Attach the iPhone motherboard to the PCB holder fixture, put it under a microscope, apply some solder paste to the motherboard, and then use QUICK TS1200A hot air gun to solder the missed pins on the solder pad, and then use green UV oil to insulate and cure it.

Now, install an iPhone flashlight IC to the motherboard, and then assemble the iPhone 6.

Press the power button to turn it on, get into IOS, test the flashlight function on the iPhone 6, now iPhone 6 flahslight function works perfecly.
