SOLVED: No response when the iPhone 6S is powered on



 The iPhone 6S accidentally fell to the ground, and then it has no reponse when boot it.  Online state is not normal, drive also displays incorrectly, as shown in picture 1, this phenomenon is usually caused by virtual soler on CPU. This device was fell over by customer, so we can judge that the reason must be the virtual solder. 

After soldering CPU with solder station, the iPhone 6s can be normal online, but it displays error 4013 when flashing system.

The error 4013 is reported when the progress bar just appears on screen, as shown in picture 1.


For iPhone 6S device, if this phenomenon happens, which are generally baseband problems, so we remove the baseband, indeed some tin points come off. 


Make jump wire on the disconnected but useful pin, install chip on it, but it still shows error 4013 when flashing, seems there is still a problem exist. Rooting the device repeatedly, we find when white apple appears, baseband S3, S4, S5 voltage can be instantly measured with power supply besides S2, but we still can measure the ground value on S2, is it the baseband power failure? Remove the baseband power supply chip, by the way of measuring its pin, it is found that the 91 and 97 pin of the baseband power supply IC are blocked. so we can see the problem has been found here. Remove the inductance, its pin has been damagd. The front is good while the reverse falls a pin. 

So we replace the damaged parts and install original fingerprint, the progress bar is normal when flashing now. The repairs ended here!

SOLVED: iTunes shows 4005 error code after NAND expand on iPhone 6 Plus



Here is a advice, when you expand the NAND memory Flash, you'd better more carefully or find the professional to do it, because it is very easy to damaged your iPhone. Here is a case, when someone expand the NAND of iPhone 6 Plus, 3/4 solder joints have been dropped, then jump wire to it, but when root it, it shows 4005 error and screen shows white Apple logo. Let's see what's going on.



When we receive the motherboard, it has no NAND Flash and many jumping wires on PCB with green oil, as shown in picture 6-86.



After observing the outer looks of the motherboard, we use multimeter to measure the diode data of all the solder joints and they all have data. But, comparing these data with that I get from my previous repair cases (picture 6-87), I find that pin G5 should be about 700 and J5 should be about 500 (notice: different multimeter shows different data). While these two joints is about 700. The two data should not be the same. We guess that someone must jump the wrong wire.


As shown in picture 6-88, when scratch the green oil carefully, we find that there is a wire and a via. Measure its diode data. The data of wire is about 700 while the data of via is about 500. Now we can be sure that it is jumped the wrong wire.


Re-jump the wire and paint green oil. Use multimeter to Measure the diode data of pin J5. It is about 500. In case of other problems, measure the diode data of all the solder joints again under the stereo microscope and find other two joints that are jumped the wrong wire. Fix them one by one.

Then assemble the NAND Flash, root it again. The screen still displays white Apple loge without the progress bar. But iPhone now can recognize NAND Flash because it shows white Apple loge in seconds. I presume that CPU is pseudo soldering or the board is disconnected. Considering the stability of whole iPhone, we use the other workable motherboard to replace the original one.

Finally, we test it and all is fine, the 4005 error code was been solved, the iPhone 6 Plus can back to normal work.

CAMERA ERROR: iPhone 6S Plus liquid intrusion then rear camera not working



As the saying goes, the knife cuts bread and fingers. Water is the essential thing of human body, but not your cell phone, you must keep your cell phone far away from the liquid, and otherwise, it will damage your cell phone. There are many examples, today we are going to talk about the iPhone 6S Plus camera issue after liquid damaged.

Problem description

The iPhone 6S Plus accidently drop into water, and then it has no backlight, when fix it, the front camera is normal, however, the rear camera is not. The 2.8V chip is replaced.


Solution


1. Disassemble the iPhone with phone opening tools, we found that some components near the camera socket J3200 are eroded. After checking the circuit diagram, we find that three inductors are missing. The three inductors in bitmap are shown in yellow points in picture 1 and material objects are shown in picture 2.

2. Directly short connect the two ends of the inductor to speed up. After the whole iPhone is fixed, we find other workable inductor to assemble. After short connecting the two ends of the inductor, use multimeter to measure the diode data to ground of its socket, the data is normal. We think it recovers now. So we assemble camera and energize it to test. The problem is still the same. Remove the camera and energize motherboardto measure its voltage. First, we measure whether I2C bus has 1.8V voltage as well as the 1.8V and 1.2V voltage that rear camera need. The teat points are shown in yellow parts in picture3.

3. The above voltages are normal. We measure a special voltage 2.85V, the pin 16 in picture 4. After assembling rear camera and turn on iPhone to open rear camera, this voltage will appear. We cannot measure it because the flex cable is connected, so we doing jump wire to measure it.

4. After measuring, we find no 2.85V voltage. The later series of iPhone 6S, the front 2.85V voltage is output by power chip while the rear 2.85V voltage is made by LDO reduction voltage chip U3200. The circuits of LDO chip are shown in picture 5.

The U3200 in bitmap is shown in picture 6.

5. Observe camera under the microscope, picture 7 ,it has no apparent corrosive behavior. Measure the working condition of VIN and EN, which are normal.  Besides, it has replaced U3200 before, we suspect that U2300 was replaced with a bad, so we replace the new U2300.

Finally, we assemble the rear camera, and test the front/rear camera, all is normal. This iPhone 6S Plus was been repair, and it can back to normal work.

Note:

The front and rear cameras of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus use the same 2.85V voltage. If 2.85V voltage has problems, both front and rear cameras cannot be used.
