Detailed Solution for iPhone 6 won't boot after dropped into water (short-circuit)

If the iPhone dropped into water, then you must have the idea that the iPhone motherboard is damaged.  Moreover, the iPhone won't boot. After water damaged, the most common phenomenon is the short circuit on the motherboard, and there has two cases. Let's take iPhone 6 won't boot after dropped into water as the  an example.

The water damaged the iPhone 6, now the problem is that the iPhone 6 won't boot.
First of all, we need to disassemble the iPhone, take off the iPhone motherboard, and then measure it with DC power supply.

Case 1

When supply power to measure the iPhone motherboard, there is large current alerts on DC power supply display screen, which means that there is a leakage phenomenon. Generally, when powering the motherboard and then it shows power leakage issue, the Rosin method is the best choice.

Use Fluke 15B+Digital Multimeter to measure the diode data for iPhone battery interface positive, the data is normal. Continue to measure the diode data for main power supply VCC_MAIN circuit, finding that the diode data for this circuit line is too small, which means that there is a short circuit here.

Smoke the iPhone motherboard to white with rosin, add voltage on VCC_MAIN, after for a while, we found a capacitor is shorted.

With the help of QUICK 861DW rework station and tweezers, we remove it smoothly and quickly. After remove that capacitor, measure it again, the data is normal now.

Install the iPhone to test, the iPhone 6 can be turned on smoothly.

Case 2

When the iPhone motherboard is being measured by powering, it won't leak, but when we press the iPhone power button, the current stuck on 200mA. Obviously, a load on the iPhone power IC is short-circuited.

Use multimeter to measure the resistance of each output grounded on the iPhone power IC, when the PP1V8_SDRAM circuit is measured, we found the problem, the PP1V8_SDRAM circuit is shorted, because the data for C1243 is too small.

Put iPhone motherboard under the Phone Repair 7-45X Trinocular Stereo Microscope, and then apply some rosin on motherboard, and then use Quick 861DW hot air rework station to smoke it, till the motherboard turns white.  Increase the voltage in the C1243, after a while, we found a capacitor is shorted.

Remove this capacitor as usual, and then measure it again, now the data is normal.

Assemble the iPhone to test; now the iPhone 6 can be turned on smoothly. After get into IOS, test all function on iPhone, everything works well.

iPhone 7 Plus Shows iTunes Error 56—How to fix?

The iPhone 7 Plus accidentally fell into water while in the normal use, even we pick it up and dry it quickly, it still has many problems, such as iTunes error 56.

When we connect iPhone 7 Plus to computer with iPhone lightning cable, and the opne the iTunes on PC, we are going to flash iPhone by iTunes.  It started smoothly, but when the flash process bar runs
to two-thirds, it stop runs and the iTunes reports unknown error 56.

As we know, iTunes error 56 mostly is caused by iPhone baseband circuit and NFC. Now, we need to find out the reason, and then we can fix it.

Use phone opening tools to disassemble the iPhone,  take out the iPhone motherboard to check , no obvious scar.

Measure the iPhone baseband circuit part, no problems was found. Now, put iPhone motherboard under the Phone Repair 7-45X Trinocular Stereo Microscope to observe, finding that the
NFCSW_RF power supply tube is seriously corroded.

Carefully handle the
eroded pin well, and then solder it well by PPD 861D Plus hot air rework station.

Assemble the iPhone, and use iTunes flash it again, it works good, and final get into IOS.

iPhone 6 Plus won't boot? Here Get Excellent Solution

The iPhone user complained that his iPhone 6 plus won't boot now, and he has no idea for how to fix it. After check the iPhone, we got best solution for it.

Use phone opening tools to tear down the iPhone, measure the iPhone motherboard with DC power supply, before we press the iPhone power button, the data is normal; when we press the iPhone power button, the current directly jump from 400mA to 1A, which means the iPhone is short circuit.

Observe the iPhone motherboard under the microscope, finding that the iPhone Nand flash was previously repaired.  Measure the power supply aroung Nand flash, the iPhone nand flash shows 1.8V, it is power supply short circuit.

Remove the iPhone Nand flash and put it under the microscope, carefully clean up the iPhone Nand flash, we found there are 2 pins was dropped. Measure these two pins to check whether is good or not,  the result is that they are  ground connection (the normal point value should be infinite).

Disconnect the jump wire and then re-weld it again by using PPD 861D Plus,  after processing, measure the iPhone 6 NAND CHIP, we find it's normal power supply 1.8V. Without NAND installation, we connect DC power supply to see the triggered current is 70mA, it's DFU mode when connect with computer(it happens when no NAND on motherboard or NAND doesn't match with CPU), then we remove the NAND on JC Pro1000s Test Fixture to see if it can be read, the result shows the NAND chip is not bad, now we re-install the NAND.

The triggered current is still 70mA, so we suspect that the NAND chip is not original, install the motherboard back and connect a computer with recovery mode, we want to check whether it can read the serial number of NAND. It can be read, so we continue to recover the data til succeed.

After finish the above steps, install the iPhone, press the iPhone power button, the Apple logo appears on iPhone display screen smoothly. After get into IOS, check iPhone functions on it, all works fine, the repairs end!

DIY FIX Guide: iPhone 6 battery runs out quickly (leakage issue)

"Why my iPhone 6 battery runs out quickly, even i didn't play it, after a while,it warns iPhone battery power is lower, what can i do?" A customers compained that. If your iPhone battery runs out quickly, you need to check the following aspects, or fix it with phone repair tools.

1. Check iPhone Autp-lock status

Perhaps, you forgot to set your iPhone in auto-lock, so even you didn't play with it, but the iPhone still runs, the iPhone screen still consums power. Please go to Settint->Display & Brightness -> Auto-Lock, and then turn it on.

2. Turn off the Apps you don't use
Some Apps, even you don't use it, but it still runs on the background, it will consumps iPhone battery, so you'd better turn ir off when you don't use it.

3. Check iPhone battery status

If the iPhone battery is in bad status, then it will died fast. Use iPhone battery tester to test it to check whether the iPhone battery works perfectly. If not, replace the new iPhone battery, if yes, keep going to check other problem.

4. Replace the new iPhone USB control IC

If the iPhone battery has no problem, try to replace the new iPhone USB control IC. You can use DC Power Supply to measure the iPhone to check iPhone current, if the current is abnormal, there is leakage, please repalce the iPhone USB control IC,and then measure it again,  the iPhone current back  to normal.

Finally, use iPhone for 1-2 days to test, the time for iPhone battey runs out is normal. The iPhone 6 problem has been solved.

Latest Solution for iPhone 6 WIFI Grayed out unable to use issue

The iPhone 6 WiFI is grayed out,  when we press the WIFI button, it has no response, the result is that the iPhone 6 can't connect to WIFI. If you have enough cellular data, then maybe you can live without WIFI, but if not, then i believe that you must urgently need to repair it. Try to fix by using the following solution.

Put iPhone on the WL Aluminum Alloy Pad, then disassemble the iPhone 6, connect it to DC power supply, we found that the current jumps normally, and there is no case of large current.

Put iPhone motherboard under the microscope, and then carefully use tweezers to remove the iPhone WIFI module IC. Using Fluke 15B+ Digital Multimeter to measure the resistance of solder pad first, after measurement, we fount the 13 pin of the solder pad was measured infinite, but as we know,  the normal resistance is about 400V.

The R0711 resistance exists after measurement, weld the jump wire from R0711 to the 13th pin of WIFI, and then install the iPhone WIFI module IC, but it still not working after tested.

Remove the IC again, continue to meause the  continue to measure the value of solder pad, it is found that the 36 pin of the solder pad is able to be measured with force.

After check iPhone bitmap, we found there is a test poing in the  middle of the 32K clock to iPhone 6 CPU. We choose to weld jumper wire directly from the test point.

After finish the above step, assemble the chip and test it, now the iPhone WIFI button has response when touch it, and the it can connect to WIFI, after a use for a while, the WIFI signal tested normal.

One more tips, we can check iPhone schematic diagram or iPhone bitmap on WUXINJI Dongle.

Summary: the solutions for iPhone 7 camera unavailable cases

The iPhone 7 camera unavailable, such as the iPhone camera won't turn on, can't take photos, can't save photos, ect. Here are solutions for repairing iPhone 7 camera common issues.

Check iPhone 6 camera circuit diagram on WUXINJI Dongle, we need to measure some power supply circuits with multimeter, the PP1V8_UT (1.8V), PP3V0_UT_SVDD (3.0V) can be measured easily after iPhone was turned on. However, there are there are three power supply circuits only can be measured under the good camera situation,  they were PP2V8_UT_AF (2.8V), PP2V9_UT_AVDD(2.9V) and PP1V2_UT_VDD (1.2V).

The PP2V9_UT_AVDD circuit power supply is provided by the U2501, the U2501 is very easy to cause iPhone camera working abnormally. The best solution is to take the U2501 off and short connect by jumper wire to solve the problem.

PP3V0_UT_SVDD (3.0V), PP2V8_UT_AF (2.8), VPP1V2_UT_VDD (1.2V) is sent to the camera interface J4501 respectively through inductance FL2500 FL2502 FL2505 FL2506. These inductors are easy to damage, resulting in failure to take photos. First, measure the resistance of the 5 circuit of power supply to the ground, exclude the failures of broken circuit or short circuit. Check FL2500 FL2502 FL2505 FL2506, use PPD 861D Plus hot air rework station  to  short connect  jump wire on U2501.

After finish this step, install the iPhone to test, if the iPhone 7 camera still unavailable, you can you can erase all the data and activate it again.

Finally, iPhone 7 camera can be used normmally. Continue to test other functions, to check whether everythind works well.

Apple iPhone 6 won't turn on (dead) -- what to do?

Apple iPhone 6 won't turn on,  it is dead.  So sad for the users, becasue they can't use it if the iPhone won't turn on.  However,  perhaps your iPhone 6 still can be saved, what to do?

Check iPhone circuit diagram on WUXINJI Dongle, so that we can know the working principle for iPhone 6, and then we can fix it easily.

iPhone Motherboard Short circuit

1.  There is a short circuit issue on PP_BATT_VCC or PP_VCC_MAIN

First measure  the diod data of  PP_BATT_VCC or PP_VCC_MAIN with multimeter, it's abnormal.  Then use rosin method to find the specific short-circuit position. After find the short circuit capacitor, you can remove it by Precision Titanium Tweezers.

2. There is short circuit on output voltage of power IC

Respectively measure each output of the bypass capacitance measurement resistance, find the short circuit parts.  And then use rosin methods to find the specific short-circuit position. After find int, remove it by tweezers.

Damaged IC

1.  if  the USB control IC is damaged, it will cause iPhone 6 stuck on White Apple logo and won't turn on.  Measure the iPhone USB control IC, if it is damaged,  you can replace the new one.

2. if the compass IC is damaged, it will cause iPhone reports unknown error 4013 and won't turn on. After measurement, you can replace it the new one.

3. If the iPhone Nand flash is damaged, it will cause iPhone blue or red screen and then auto restart. After measurement, you can use weld the U0301 first, if not working, then you can re-install or replace the iPhone NAND flash.

4. If the CPU is damaged, it will cause iPhone stuck on 100mA and won't turn on.  Connect iPhone to PC, if it can't identify the hardware, which means CPU not working, re-install or replace U1202; if it can indentify the hardware, try to flash it with iTunes, if the it reports iTunes error 4005/4014/14/40, then basically it is CPU  or iPhone Nand flash error, you can re-install or replace it.
